Origon27

Our first product is called Origon27, a ceiling lamp. Its aesthetic is reminiscent of polygonal art or origami, hence its name.

Its diffuser is entirely 3D printed from a material that combines PLA and wood fibers, providing a warm and natural shade, perfect for a cozy atmosphere.

This way, 3D printing proves to be an industry ready technology that allows for unprecedented creative freedom and local manufacturing almost anywhere in the world.

1. Make sure the general power is off

Turn off the main power supply to the house. Strip the end of the lamp's power cable. You should be able to see both the live wire and the neutral wire.

2. Disassemble the lamp holder and make the connections

Completely disassemble the lamp holder and connect the live and neutral wires to the terminals. Make sure to route the power cable through the back of the lamp holder. Finally, reassemble the lamp holder, except for the nut.

4. Tighten it up

Use the lamp holder nut to secure the diffuser in place.

3. Mount the lamp's diffuser

Insert the diffuser through the threaded end of the lamp holder.

5. Screw the lightbulb

Screw an E27 LED bulb into the socket and restore power.

Voila! The lamp should now bathe the room in a pleasant amber light.

What materials is the lamp made of?

The Origon27 lamp consists of two elements: an E27 lamp holder made of bakelite and a 3D printed diffuser made of a material that combines PLA with wood fibers.

Where is it manufactured?

The manufacturing takes place in a small workshop on the island of Tenerife, Spain, so by purchasing this product you are supporting local design and manufacturing

Does the product comply with all current regulations?

Yes, the product has been extensively tested and complies with the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), RoHS regulations and CE marking

Which light bulbs are compatible?

Although the diffuser has been extensively tested in extreme temperature environments, it is recommended to always use LED bulbs with a wattage no higher than 20W.

Please note that the diffuser, due to the properties of its material, tends to cast a very warm shade, so we recommend bulbs of 3000K or even cooler.

Are the power cord and light bulb included?

No, but these are items you can easily find at any local hardware store.

How can I purchase it?

Currently, it is only sold through local distributors in Tenerife. It will soon be available for purchase through third-party 3D printing services or as a digital product for download in STL or 3MF format.
